I work in a print shop where we offer sign and graphic services. I have been using this model of a cutter at work for the last ten years to trim foam core mounts, gator board, lamination, standard cardboard, double corrugated cardboard boxes, and a number of oversize materials (i.e. canvas, photo paper, outdoor vinyl banner material, polypropylene, etc.). The cutter slide nicely on the metal rail and the cuts are very accurate. TIP: With thicker material, I like to score and then apply pressure to cut fully through. The only flaw is its plastic and the piece holding the trimmer to the ruler and allows the piece to slide along the rail can brake under strenuous abuse. Despite this one draw back, my last cutter has survived over a year of continuous use and major abuse from new team members trying to twist it off the rail. Before that one, it lasted over five years. I would recommend this cutter to anyone looking for a trimmer which glides smoothly along the rail, easy to use and load, is compact, and is easy to handle.
