Description Fender Stratocaster Custom Shop ’57 Relic 2012 Here is something rather special … a Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster offered through The Music Deli! Stunning ’57 Relic Stratocaster crafted in 2012 complete with certificate, bridge cover and case candy in the pictures, original tweed G&G case This one was played extensively by the previous owner and had a re-fret done to a very high standard by renowned luthier Colin Keefe of Keefe Guitars a few years ago. When I contacted Colin to confirm this he remembered the guitar well and commented on how resonant it was. He is definitely right on that one! Some of the Relic & Heavy Relic Strats produced by the Custom Shop can sometimes look a little contrived and ‘over done’. I am pleased to say that this one shows wear and cosmetic damage in all the right places and really does look like it has been played for 50 years! Having said that it is in very good to excellent condition outside of the factory Relic-ing and has obviously been very well cared for during its life. It is loud acoustically and plays nicely with a low to medium action. The tremolo works smoothly as do the tuners. It feature a 5 way selector switch and the bridge pickup has been wired to the lower tone control, a really useful addition that I think must have been done by the previous owner. I am not 100% sure what case candy came with the guitar but this one has everything in the pictures including a sought after ‘Key’ envelope that I am told are quite rare, plus the bridge cover that is usually missing!
